Coaching Education

It is important to us at the National Capital TFC that our coaches are knowledgeable about the sport and understand the Long Term Athlete Development model in athletics to help your athletes be their best. Courses are available to all coaches from all clubs looking to upgrade their coaching skills!

Coaching Education Weekend: Postponed until Spring 2018

The NCTFC will be hosting two courses – Sport Coach and Club Coach. Please see below for more information on each course.

Please note that if a minimum of 6 attendees is not reached for either course, it may be cancelled or rescheduled.

Sport Coach

Sport Coach is an introductory course for coaches looking to learn the basics of coaching in Athletics, including planning, safety guidelines, basic technical skills and long term athlete development. All event groups will be covered in this course.

Club Coach

Club Coach is designed for coaches who have already completed Sport Coach and are looking to gain specialized skills in one event group. Coaches will learn how to plan for a season, develop specific technical skills in the chosen event group as well as nutrition, mental skills and safety guidelines in athletics.

Coaching Bursaries
Note that for all coaching education, there is the opportunity to receive funding that can help cover course fees. The Coaches Association of Ontario offers up to 70% reimbursement for course fees. See links below for more information.
